Most ideas start from pencil and paper. Being able to accurately portray ideas and replicate objects is a difficult discipline. Two-dimensional design can produce images in a realistic fashion and helps build the blueprint for larger-scale projects.

Axile Modeling shoe to scale
Drawing accurately requires precision and patience to have the lines guide to the points of perspective. There can be up to five intercepting points that all lines lead to provide different views. I enjoy adding simple shading using axile modeling to create depth. Building forms from each plane are the fundamentals of any composition and when understood can create complex layers and even add bending effects.

Inking styles have been one of my favorite mediums to work with. I enjoy working with hatching and cross-counter methods that provide value while only using the positive and negative space of the white page and the ink. It can add complex detail to portraits and is also great for simple logo design.
