Site-Specific Seating

Kabuki Restaurant Entrance
This collaborative project tested my skills in identifying the surroundings of an environment and enhancing the location with a seating arrangement that fits. We were to create a replica of what could be built. This allowed us to get creative with our resources and the cultural setting as we used wood chopsticks and other materials. We created a Japanese Torri entrance bench that matched the restaurant's architecture.

Modular Design

Turning an idea, into a sketch and then molding it into a physical form can be a formidable task but can create amazing objects. Three-dimensional designs produce a unique effect that brings ideas and mental images into our physical reality. Instead of it just being something we can see, it becomes an experience as we touch, and interact with it.

Light and location
The mosaic sundial was constructed using tile pieces and marble with the reflecting shards mirroring the infinite sky. This piece utilizes the open space in a cemetery as a shadow is cast from to provide the given hour as it stands as a symbol of life and time.
